Prevent falls at home and try this balance test and balance exercises to strengthen your muscles. Having good balance is important for everything we do in our daily lives, including walking and standing up from the chair or toilet. Also, because falls are the number one cause of fatal and non-fatal injuries among older adults, it is important to improve your balance to prevent them.

See where you are with your balance ability with a four-step test. Try to hold each move for 10 seconds. If you can’t hold it, then do balance exercises until you master it and move on to the next step.

✅ Stand with feet parallel
✅ Stand with one foot in the instep of the other
✅ Stand heel to toe in tandem position
✅ Stand on one leg

Two balance exercises are included in this video to get you started.

I’m in my 70’s (😳when did THAT happen😆) and I just had a total knee replacement 4 months ago…I’m embarrassed to say lately I’ve become more sedentary, so this was a true test for me, and I did pass, but I had a couple of Wobblies there…I saved this so I can work on this everyday…thank you🌹🌹🌹
