Low Carb Fail: Do You Suffer from Carb Creep?

When you first start a low-carb diet, you are aware of every bite of food that goes in your mouth. But, because we are creatures of habit, it is easy to drop into mindless eating habits that allow a few extra carbs to creep into your day as your diet progresses. If your low carb or keto diet has hit a plateau, you’ll want to check your diet for carb creep. I explain what I mean in this video and the simple ways you can avoid it.

  • Oh boy. This is me right now. Letting a wee bit of carbs get by. I began my low carb journey a little over four months ago. My intention isn’t keto but low carb 50 to 100 per day.

Question: Can I be in fat burning with this amount of carbs? Can one be in partial fat burn mode?

Wow, it’s amazing how you’re anticipating this. Likely anticipating for newyear beginners, I’m assuming?

  • Thx Becky, I was there recently over the last month and a half… I started snacking between my 18/6 intermittent fasting, which killed the fasting strategy. All of my snacks were natural and not processed foods. The carbs added up, and I felt bloated or plumpy. I corrected my carb count, and I began to flush the excess fluid out. I’m back on track now.

  • Yes, be careful of products that say Keto on the package, as it’s usually just marketing. I recently saw Arnold’s Keto bread. Holy moly were the ingredients atrocious! It had all the stuff people like us avoid. Take care.

  • Today: just one tic tac can’t hurt….
    Next week: it’s only a snickers….
Next month: why the f am I gaining weight ?
    😂

  • Ok I will admit that I cheat!!! I grew up on rice and pasta have have worked on trying to eat their keto replacements – cauliflower and pasta zero, and may I say YUCK! I have learned to limit the rice/pasta to maybe eating them every few months. Thank goodness I have continued the weight loss. I was 215lbs, may heaviest ever. Now I’m at 188, a huge win for me : )
