  • Thank you for this message Dy Ann. You are always an inspiration. I have shared this to the group I manage and it’s my hope that others are inspired as well

  • Just found your video and am enjoying them. Thank-you for the information! I just started a 16:8 fast. Lost 5lbs in 4 days thus far. I am a very active 52, almost 53 yr old. Perimenopausal. I lift alot. And do bootcamps. I’m here to tell others, fasting can be done with exercise. That being said, can I chew sugarless gum during my fasting window?

    • Can? All depends on how your body responds to the gum? If you are pretty dialed it to your lifestyle it might not be a problem. Test it out.

    • @Dy Ann Parham Cou you explain the ‘pretty dialed it to’ sentence here? I don’t follow your meaning. Tu.

    • @sparklebox11 dialed in= consistent, know what being fasted and tapping into stores energy feels like (energized sense of calm), confident in hunger, know how you nutritional choices affect your results. Those types of things.

  • I’m very glad that I found your channel. I have lost a bunch of weight (103 lbs) over the last year and a half. You’re right about the mindset and planning your day, plan your fast, and the opportunity to do nothing. I fast everyday, but I notice that the magic for me is to keep my carbs low, eat until I’m comfortably full, and I’m good. I notice if I don’t feed my body well and dont drink my minerals then I just want everything sweet all the time, lol. When I do make those mistakes I don’t beat myself up about it…I just say tomorrow is a new day and just deal with it.

I need to lose another 10 pounds and it is the most difficult and this is the reason why finding this video is good for met. Thank you for it. I’m now subscribed 😊

  • Getting in on the replay. I need to get consistent before I can expect wt loss. I know where I need to start! The challenge is getting it done. Re-committing this week. 💪

  • I found your channel recently. I have been IF and keto for a few years. I’ve been struggling to lose weight for years, not sure how heavy I was at heaviest (likely 340+), but recently started weighing myself….. was 280 April 2020… now down to about 225. I still want to lose about 50-75 pounds…. my health would be improved and I would feel so much better psychologically! 😌 both IF and keto have stopped working. I would love to kick start losing weight again. Currently, I’m fasting for 2 days consecutively to try to get things going again. I’m practically carb free at <20 carbs per day when eating.

    • Congratulations!! Amazing accomplishment. How did you loose so fast? I do IF and no carbs. I was 267 in Feb and now 6/1/22 231 And haven’t loss any weight but loss inches in the past 3 wks cause I caught Covid. Feeling so much better hope I get back on track to loosing weight again.

  • You are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT! I literally dropped 7 pounds by dropping the creamer in my fasting window. I wasn’t even drinking much creamer, only 10 ml- but that was enough to prevent me from losing the pounds!! The creamer isn’t worth it folks, something so small can wreck your goals.

    • @B B does not matter… all do not work for me. I got used to black coffee. Small price to pay for weight loss.

    • Agree @Feast. Black coffee, black or plain green tea, water or mineral water. No sweetener, lemon, flavor, milk of any kind. It is most definitely uncomfortable….and a huuuuge mindshift. But…why would you work so hard for 18 hours and then blow your fast with a Tablespoon of cream? 😮

  • Absolutely great, thank you! Clear, direct, applicable, and putting yourself in the decision and evaluation positions. Very grateful for all:-)))

  • Thank you, so much, for making this video. I found you, today (May 28, 2022). I have been doing Keto + IF + Fasting since July 2020. I have “released” 75 pounds. (I was encouraged to use a different “mindset” + call it “release”, because some times when we “lose things”, we “FIND them” and I do not want the “released” pounds to ever come back.)
I recently have been “stuck” with losing weight. This video is helpful AND inspiring – thank you!! Happy that your video “popped up” + happy to be new subscriber!

    • @Dy Ann Parham – How sweet, Dy Ann!! Thanks for welcoming me. I am looking forward to watching your other videos.

    • Wow!, “Release”, your mindset is basically the mindset I have, the words that you might use, wether in mind or by mouth can be crucial to how you stand in a fast or anything.

    • I love that analogy Karen and I’m going to use that. I will now say I’ve “released” 93lbs. I never want to find them again. 🙂

  • I have lost a stone and now at a weight I have not been for thirty years.
I researched fasting and fasted the first time for 61 hours, but it was too much.
Then I tried again later to 38 hours and still it was uncomfortable.
I did not give up and look for a fasting where it would feel comfortable.
So now I fast everyday by eating a boiled egg each morning and may have a banana or orange after, then within six hours I eat a very healthy meal and quite large and then don’t eat for twenty or twenty two hours.
I do now again have a sin day where I can eat what I like as a treat, this has helped.
The twenty odd hours I don’t eat is when I burn the fat and give my body time to regenerate.
Plus because of the cost of living have saved money on foods .

    • I’m curious about the math in your schedule. If you eat within a six hour window but fast for 22 hours, does your breakfast time advance each day?

  • Great informative video. Not just for the ladies… I’m a 49 year old man and have found this video super helpful.
I’m on my first OMAD journey. Day 3 in and I’m loving it. Black coffee and water is my crutch during the day then a mighty feast at 6pm. I’ve weighed myself today and I’m already down.
    Thanks again,
    Paul.

    • @Claudia Gerisch still going strong. Total weight loss of 23lbs in about 4 weeks. I was starting to eat healthy about a week before I started Omad.
I make homemade veg soup for starters followed by either a big salad or big bowl of mixed veggies and whatever protein is going. Still drinking about 4 black coffee a day and between 2 and 3 liters of water.
I bought ACV today to try include that into my diet.
But all in all I’ve loads of energy and starting feeling good about myself.

  • Exercise is a must. After a certain age plus hormonal changes, sluggishness sets in. It’s all about blood flow. Focus on a slow sustained longer form of cardio instead of the intense ones. Keep at it at least 5x a week. Consistency is key. 3 – 6 months to jump-start, then reverse metabolism. Then wham bam, the IF and low carb feathers in nicely. Look into Wim Hoff ‘s breathing protocol with cold showers too

  • April 2020 graduate course here! I reach my overall goal weight doing your course through lock down! and even though I’ve had a little regain I go back to what I learned doing IF. I’m 1 pound from that goal today! I may fluctuate a little but I always come back to what I know works!

    • I never thought I could drink plain black coffee but I’ve come to love it! It was a mindset I had to break and I did through your course!

  • Excellent information. Thank you. I am OMAD now. At first I was afraid of being hungry, but I actually enjoy being OMAD with Beef Bacon Eggs and B Complex (sublingual), , B-12 (sublingual), Vit D (liquid), Essential Minerals and Electrolytes.

  • Amen! Dy Ann! I’ve made all those excuses because some choices were “uncomfortable”. I need to win the cravings game. I’ve lost hope fasting 36hr fasting x3 times per week for 3 months and still have crazy cravings! Weak binging then I don’t lose weight.

  • This is very great advice and I practice intermittent fasting every single day and do some prolonged fasts beyond 24 hours every once in a while. I’ve lost 100 lbs since 2020 and have been able to keep it off because of fasting and eating a very low carb diet.

  • So glad I found you! This is exactly I need.

I had been keto for 5 years… with strong fasting. I love fasting. then I got Covid and my glucose went crazy. A few months later I got the vaccine and completely flared MCAS neurological, heart and mobility issues. This really has thrown me for a loop. Now on a low histamine diet but have gained weight! Lots of weight!

It has been a year now. I have to turn this around and focus on my health, not just low histamine food.

  • Love you channel , I go in and out of trying to fast cause I never seem to get it right, but once again I start fasting only four days in and I’ve been doing a 20 hour squeaky clean fast and for me not having cream in my coffee makes my face super super easy I don’t even think about it, my question to you is I’ve got to take medication before I go to bed will that break my fast I start fasting around seven or 7:30 PM I take my medication before bed at 10 PM again does that break my fast, and sometimes I do take a melatonin pill before bed because my sleeping is horrible suggestions please thank you once again love you videos

  • I am type 2 diabetic and I’ve always been hungry previously. I’m on my third day of fasting (18:6) and I’m trying my best to stick with this so I can lose weight and reverse type 2 diabetes. So far, fasting has been the hardest thing I’ve ever done so far. I’ve read about emotional and physical hunger and I realize that I’m more battling my emotional hunger.

  • So glad you showed up on my feed! These videos are informative! You are such a inspiration! ❤️👍🏼love the way you explain and teach !
