  • Great lesson! Looking forward to the July class! The 20 hour fast is definitely my sweet spot. My struggle is dropping off during vaca. While in NYC with my daughter I ate all day! I woke every morning saying, “Ugh! I’m not looking and feeling my best! Why am I doing this?!”

    • @Seagirlrun yes, every day I fast for 20 and have a 4 hour eating window where I try to eat clean keto style. I don’t eat meat but I eat lots of fish. I usually break my fast with Dy Ann’s protein shake. I feel so much better when I do this and make sure my body goes into autophagy. I just totally blew it when I went on vacation. 😝

  • THANK YOU for speaking about memory loss. I have been experiencing the same and am being told that’s “normal”. I didn’t listen and looked up memory boosting foods and realized that even though I am fasting IF, I was not paying enough attention to the importance of the nutritional aspect while feasting. Changing that now! Will keep you posted. Love your videos and they always seem to be spot on. 🥰🤗

  • Hi Dy Ann, 20 hour fasting for the past 6 weeks.. I’ve lost 17 pounds. Stuck at the same weight for 3 years…love IF, feel so great, sleeping through the night and 67 years old.

  • April 2020 graduate here! This program works! I reached my overall goal during lock down using your program! Yes, I wanted to lose weight but more than that I wanted to feel better! I was sick of feeling sick! I didn’t care what I had to do to get my health back! You have to want it bad enough to do what it takes and I was there! Even though I may go up and down a few pounds I go back to what I learned from this problem and it works every time! I’m in control! I feel and look my best at age 50! I’ll never go back!

  • I missed the live last night but I started 20 hr fasting this week and I’m so excited to see my journey unfold. For the last 3 months I’ve been doing an 18 hr fast. I lost about 11-12 lbs in 2 months but I had also been much more strict about not eating processed & packaged foods and staying clear of bad sugars. About month 3 I had eased my restrictions about eating things like pizza or white rice occasionally just as long as I was sticking to my fasting window. But I found that I wasn’t losing anymore weight. Thankfully your channel was in my feed and I clicked on the video. Everything you’re saying makes a lot of sense and tracks with many other doctors I follow and respect. I’m 51 and I’m really excited to reverse or improve on many of the signs and symptoms of aging so that I can live my best life. I signed up for your course and I can’t wait to be educated on so many new things. And I absolutely plan to share this information with all my friends and hopefully they do the same. I can’t stand fad diets, counting calories, tracking food, etc etc. But I’ve found and experienced that IF works for me and I love it because I definitely feel a difference in my body and mental faculties (brain fog, memory), my sleep, my attitude, and my skin. Thank you for your work and guidance!

  • I did my first 20 hour start a couple of days ago. It was wonderful…my inflammation was GONE. My mood and mind clarity was wonderful too!

    • @Dy Ann Parham One can have inflammation and be unaware, until it reaches a peak , when symptoms begin to be felt. I’d had inflammation for a long time , according to my rheumatologist. Only severe symptoms led to a diagnosis.

    • @Tara Alan yes, me too. If you start to feel better that is usually a good sign. So if your symptoms have changed, something that once felt bad to feeling good then the bad feeling can be inflammation. That’s what you want to be able to name.

  • This is a breath of fresh air! I have cut out processed foods and doing IF since January, all over the place on internet watching IF information and my head was spinning. I have learned a lot and lost 30 pounds in the process. My best IF’s are 20 to 40 hours. I have never felt better however I was feeling isolated/alone and really beat myself up when I enjoy an occasional”treat” at a family function. However after watching 2 of your videos I am renewed with several of your topics I can totally relate to. Going on vacation and would like to jump into a class after July 4th. I feel like I have found the place I am meant to be!
    56! You look awesome!

  • Oh. My. God!!! I discovered fasting several months ago and have been doing a 3 to 5 day fast once each month. Between the longer fasts I tried 16|8 or 18|4, but had MAJOR dips in energy on theses days. I’m on 20|4 and am now full of energy all day. I work out (mainly lifting weights) without a problem. I’ve lost 65 lbs since Nov ‘21 and have about 17 to go. I’m happy I discovered your channel. I’ve subscribed and hit the notification bell.

    • @Della Drummond thanks, I think that’s the great thing about fasting is how flexible it can be. I have done a 5 day fast before and found it really great but doing the 16/8 thing very tricky to do so maybe doing a 3-5 day would work better. Thank you again 🙏🏽

    • @1 Angell70 I do IF for 20 and sometimes 24 hours. I drink black coffee, and lots of water in the fasting periode. Only in my eating window I drink coffee with cream, milk and water with apple cider eddik. I have lost 18 lbs in 4 weeks.

    • @Ranveig Erlingsdotter Hansen wow……thank you for your reply. I can’t even see properly after 14 h. I have tried 20 h with 4 hours break but then I could eat anything…..I believe it will take time to train my body, isn’t it? to allow me to every single day do fasting. At the same time, I don’t want to lose my muscle and my body mass which are so precious after 40s….. so this is the problem. I guess maybe I should look into some whey protein shakes without sugar, like this I will increase and maintain body mass. I understand she is doing the same, isn’t it?

    • @Marva Pickmac use weight training and focus training on abs it arms do challenges it will help with sagging skin use coconut oil n olive oil all over dab your skin dry when you get out the shower/bath instead of wiping you skin very hard

  • I just found you today. Been in and off of keto and IF for 5 years. Yes.. everything I gained health wise I lost after getting off those regimens.
Started a 20 hr fast just yesterday! So what nutritional supplements should we use on the 20 hr fasting lifestyle. I just became diabetic, and yes… my life depends on 20 hour fasting.
    A wake-up call!!!! I’m 76ers old.

  • Thank you Dy Ann for sharing this information with all of us. I’m 60 yrs young. I started out with the 15 hour intermediate fasting and for the first time in four years I started to see some weight lose. I’m now progressing to the 20 hour fasting. Best wishes to you all. May you all enjoy your new fit bodies!

  • I started IF in March of 2021. I wanted to lose 30 lbs. Started at 165. I have lost the same 30 pounds countless times. This last time was more difficult using conventional methods. I’m now 68. I started IF at 16 hrs, then quickly moved to 18 and 20. I lost about 2 lbs a week. Doing 20 hours did help me over the harder times. I successfully met my goal in June of 2021 and have kept the weight off doing 14 and 16 hour fasts, but when I had more lax times, just getting back on with 20 hour fasts got me back on track quickly. After I lost about 10 lbs I did start dirty fasting with tea and cream, but I kept records and this didn’t seem to change my weight loss. I realize that some people can’t dirty fast with results. That’s why I tell everyone, “EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT” You have to monitor your results and what you do, eat etc, and see how it affects your results. You DO NOT have to do what everyone else says you HAVE to do. I can’t tell you how many people I have watched that said you HAVE to do Keto, or you HAVE to calorie count. Some do, some don’t. TEST THIS FOR YOURSELF. Do your OWN research. Everyone IS Different and some of these things don’t work for everyone. I have read where some don’t lose until they do OMAD.

  • 70 years old and was feeling sluggish, stomach felt full constantly (because it was – I snacked throughout the entire day.) Beginning of May this year I started fasting 20 hours a day (I eat between 3:30 pm and 7:30 pm). First thing I noticed was my energy level skyrocketed – I used to go go go all day and now I can do that again. My clothes are much looser (I refuse to get on a scale at my age). I am pre-diabetic so I’m anxious to see if my numbers go down as I do allow myself a sweet each night.

  • I am glad I found this. I started eating 1 meal a day by accident and noticed I felt better. I have gained so much weight since menopause. I never had weight issues before. I went from 140 to 177 and nothing worked to get it off. I am a former personal trainer and never dreamed I would struggle with this. I am always bloated and struggle with inflammation since vaccine injury this last year. It seems like the fasting has helped but I was concerned about getting the nutrition I need. Watching this confirms I am on the right track and I have lost 4 lbs in the last week. It does not bother me at all to go this long without eating. Hoping this is going to continue to bring healing. Thank you!

    • Chris, Dr. Mercola recently posted an article about what to do if you are vaccine injured. Number 1 was time restricted eating…aka intermittent fasting! I loved that! Nothing to buy, just don’t eat all day!

    • Holy cow! This is me (except for the Personal trainer part). Avid runner and never worried about weight at all until menopause. Nothing has worked, 145 up to 175 in just a couple of years and incredibly frustrating. Just found this today so hope it helps.

  • I’m 54 and I’m not any ageing woman! Just menopaused and feel great and looking forward to live a long healthy life. No processed food, very limited sugar, 16-18 hrs fast every day and 3-5 days water fasts every month since 2017. Greetings from Poland 💜

  • I started my 20hr fast straight after watching this recording. I’m 4 days in now and wow wow wow!
I’m not tired anymore, my tummy is flatter(husband confirmed), I’m never hungry. I feel like something has been lifted off my body. I will continue for as long as l can. As for weight, l hardly weigh but my jeans will tell.

  • I’ve been doing a 16 hour fast for a while now with not much change and was getting pretty discouraged. Thank you for this information! I am recommitted now and going to up my fast to 20 hours. Plus I know I need to clean up my eating. I can’t wait to get started!!

  • It’s been two weeks on plan and lost five pounds. Thought I would struggle without any fake sugar in my drinks but am going the full 20 (on mt valley and other mineral waters, unsweetened tea & coffee)Adding salt helps a lot. Your words of encouragement have made a BIG difference. This is my longest and most successful period fasting. My first time without fake sugar this has made all the difference! Previous fasts have all included fake sugar and I lost nothing. Unadulterated drinks and 20 hrs has made all the difference for me! I’m 61 and a 7 yr vegan had not been able to lose much previously. Your plan is transformative! Thank you!!!

    • Wow, congrats. I’m trying this out because I would love to balance my hormones and quit my monthly. I’m 53. I’ve been doing this almost one full week and it’s easier than I thought it would be. I realize I’m not getting to eat as much though, and cramming in all I can in my four hours. I guess this has to be for the rest of my life???

    • My last name is Alonzo, spelled with a “z” instead of an “s”. Don’t see this last name often! Congrats on progress. How’s it going after a month?

  • Thank you for this great explanation, DyAnn. My question is this:
I am 74. Had a total hysterectomy at 45 (both my mother and younger sister had ovarian cancer and my OB-Gyn said I had to do it-they didn’t find any cancer in me-thank goodness). I read a book by Dr. John Lee that said if I had a total hysterectomy that I should use natural Progesterone Cream and not take artificial Estrogen. So since then, I have done that 21 days per month. Over those almost 30 years I gained 130 lbs. Two years ago I found out about Keto/Carnivore and have very slowly lost 40 lbs. Will your protocol help me? If so I would like to join, but because I don’t have ovaries, I wanted to see if you have had any other women have success with the same situation.

    • I do a 23 hour fast because I follow Dr Berg’s program. I had a hysterectomy in 2020 and had cancer twice. I’m losing a lot of weight. It doesn’t matter if you have ovaries or not. 🙂

  • About 2 years ago I was gaining weight around my belly uncontrollably and 20hrs fasting is doing wonder to my body. I’ve been doing it over a year now and I get compliments how good I look. On weekends I do 16-17 hrs fasting to enjoy my food a little more.

  • I have taken your advice and I’m now consistently fasting 20+ hrs a day. I have been clean fasting for 2 yrs and had a 26 lb loss. Then Life happened and I regained 18 pounds. I struggled and could not restart the weight loss. I took your advice and ramped it up. I have reset my hormones now the weight loss is happening again! Thank you!
