  • My watch has a neat little reminder to drink water, stand up and walk about.

Its certainly true that being immobile is not good for health combine that with overeating and well..

    Good short, btw. 🙂

  • Sitting is actually very bad for you. For several years i worked as a nurse doing home IVIG, and it was the worst possible thing i ever did. My hips became very stiff and sore. It took a good year after i went back to ambulance work, lots of walking and hip stretching to help it. Im now back in hospitals working there and frequently the only seat your butt ever touches is a toilet seat and my phsical fitness improvement is i leaps and bounds. Even when i was sitting alot i still went to the gym, and the simple half hour on the treadmll helped very little! Because was sitting more than moving! So im still working on it. I try to avoid sitting as much as possible . My sister worked several years at home. A home office job,she too had to go back to office for the EXACT same reason! Everyone wants a job working from home and yet,its probably the worst thing you can ever do.

  • I realised this was happening to me, so I started walking and following you for tips. I am working on my muscle tone and balance. The improvement is so noticeable and I feel better….definitely keep moving and pick up some weights (even a can of beans) to maintain muscle tone…..thanks for your motivation.

  • My great grandmother lived to 106 yrs old. She sat a lot, she was a very inactive woman. My aunts are very inactive, they sit all the time watching tv or quilting they are in their 90’s and don’t look like it.

    • My nana sat all day too, never worked or even drove. She sat and watched her “stories” all day lol. She lived until over 92 yrs old. I sit all day at work. However, I still agree that it’s not good for us and I’m making an effort to move more and use my stand-up desk at work.😊

    • She didn’t say you’d die from sitting she simply stated you’d lose muscle and become less toned, which is true!
