You have found the perfect workout to make you feel great and improve your posture, balance and strength! This Pilates workout is perfect for beginners and seniors even if you have never done pilates before. The first part of this full body workout is in a standing position. We will complete 8 exercises for 40 seconds with a quick 10 second break between moves. We will then repeat those 8 exercises with a pair of (optional) dumbbells. I'm using a set of 3 pound weights. The second half of the workout is performed on the mat. On the floor we complete exercises geared towards strengthening your core, glutes and thighs. There are a few moves where we are briefly on our knees. Check out the standing modifications if you are not able to put weight on your knees. We will finally conclude with beautiful stretching exercises to improve our flexibility and reduce our aches and pains.
This workout is also osteoporosis friendly. There are not any exercises where we round or twist the back. It's also great for building strong bones with the use of hand weights and weight bearing exercises!
