Each ingredient has specific properties that contribute to healthy and radiant skin:
1/2 Banana: Bananas are rich in vitamins A, B, and C, as well as potassium and natural oils. They help to nourish, hydrate, and moisturize the skin, while also promoting cell regeneration and reducing the appearance of blemishes.
1 tsp Honey: Honey is a natural humectant that attracts and retains moisture, helping to keep your skin hydrated. It also has antibacterial properties, which can help reduce acne and inflammation, and antioxidant properties that protect your skin from environmental damage.
2-3 drops Lemon Thyme: Lemon thyme essential oil is known for its antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties. These properties can help cleanse the skin, reduce redness and inflammation, and protect it from free radicals that cause aging and damage.
1 spoon Yoghurt: Yoghurt contains lactic acid, a natural alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) that gently exfoliates and removes dead skin cells, promoting a brighter complexion. It is also rich in probiotics, which help to balance the skin's natural microbiome, maintaining its health and preventing breakouts.
To use this mixture as a face mask, simply mash the banana and mix it with the honey, lemon thyme essential oil, and yoghurt. Apply the mixture evenly to your face, avoiding the eye area, and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Then, rinse it off with lukewarm water, and gently pat your face dry. Follow with a hydrating face moisturiser before going to sleep.The combination of these ingredients will help to nourish, hydrate, and brighten your skin, promoting a healthy, glowing complexion.
